Errors¶
This page lists some common errors, bugs, or glitches that you may encounter in Deeptower.
- (Empty braces) – Just restart.
- cantFindLibraries – Reinstalling the emulator does the trick. If not, try reinstalling the ROM as well.
- infiniteUI – The UI duplicates itself until the game crashes. This one is so rare that restarting should be just fine. There’s not a way to avoid it.
- invalidItemType – Although the end version of Deeptower barely has items, there were initially plans to have an extremely detailed trading/bartering system that utilized randomly generated items. Sometimes, in the background, the game generates an item that crashes the game. It’s unavoidable. Luckily, it’s uncommon.
- playerOutOfBounds –
- testItemDetected - When loading into new levels, the game checks for any items the player shouldn't have in their inventory and purges them.
- textRepeatError – When clicking on some objects, their attached message will spam itself repeatedly. Just don’t click on them the next time.
- thatDamnPainting – Some paintings within Deeptower cause a massive overload in VRAM, which can cause the game to crash. When you encounter this, just try to not look too long in the direction of the bugged painting.
- transitAxisOverflow – Something with RAM usage inside the player’s vision cone combined with the movement system’s spaghetti code causes a few areas to teleport your hero backwards. To get past the glitched area, simply turn around and walk backwards. That way, your vision cone isn’t overlapping the problem area.
